EMPLOYEES at a growing recruitment company will be able to have meetings through the looking glass at their state-of-the-art new office which boasts themed rooms, a traditional American diner and even a putting green to help them unwind.

Colchester MP Will Quince officially opened the new base for Whitehall Resources on The Crescent on Severalls Business Park on Friday.

The quirky new features are designed to allow employees to readdress their work life balance and digital marketing lead Paul Ashton said the new site could rival any in the country.

He said: “If you were to search for the best offices in the world, there is no reason why we would not be in the argument.

We have everything our staff could need including a red and white American diner and themed meeting rooms one is Batman and the other is in the style of the Mad Hatter and a London style one.

“There is a small putting green at the back and a games room, we didn’t want it to be just any other office.

“We want to attract the best people in the Colchester area to come and work for us and we want it to be a vibrant place.

“Recruitment can be quite a stressful industry and quite pressurised, so we think these little changes can work to redress the balance.”

The new office will allow the company, which was set up in 2007, to employ 140 extra people, with the majority to be recruited from in and around Colchester.

Mr Ashton added: “At the moment we are an 85 strong company and the new building will allow us to expand to 225 people.

“It means we have to recruit more people to work for us and we are hoping to go at a rate of five per month and the majority of them will be local people.”

The firm already boasts Heineken, Rolls Royce, HMRC and Jaguar on their list of clients and managing director Tremayne Hall said: We’re delighted to be in the new building - this will be the platform for the next phase of our growth.

“We’ll be growing all of our teams to support our aim of being the biggest and best recruiter in the markets we deliver to.”
