A CHILDREN’s charity received a visit from a different sort of superhero.
Brainwave Children’s Charity were visited by Secret Hamper Man, after the charity was chosen to be supported by a Maldon business
Secret Hampers, set up earlier this year, chose Brainwave Children’s Charity as their charity of the month.
The business runs a chosen charity every month. Users of their website can donate and at the end of the month Secret Hamper distribute hampers to the selected charity.
Founder, Nigel Richardson, dressed in bright green as Secret Hamper Man to deliver the donations to the charity.
He said: “I had heard about Brainwave Children’s Charity and the wonderful work they do so we chose them as our charity of the month for September.
“It was a real pleasure to meet the Brainwave team and to be shown around their children’s therapy centre to see the work they do.
“I had a lot of fun delivering these hampers and knowing we are helping them in their fundraising endeavours.”
Brainwave offers therapy to children with disabilities and additional needs to help them achieve their potential, out of their base in Newland Street, Witham.
Community Manager, Gerry Gould said: “These hampers are brilliant as they are full of everyday items without all the fancy packaging.
“We do not receive any Government funding and have to raise all our own funding and one way of doing this is by holding our own events so these hampers will be used in the auctions or raffles.”
