TILLINGHAM water has been restored after issues throughout the morning.

The majority of the village had been left without water following issus in St Lawrence area.

Last night, Essex & Suffolk Water identified a problem that was affecting homes in the area.

Speaking about the problem, Tillingham Parish Councillor, Kevin Knight said: "I have just spoken with Essex Water as a Parish Councillor, they have advised that the majority of Tillingham is effected.

"The water flow from St Lawrence Tower is ten times what it should be, so they know they ahve a ruptured pipe.

"However, they have had no reports of water flooding out, which must be happening somewhere."

A spokesman for Essex & Suffolk Water said: “It was a six inch water main on St Lawrence road in Tillingham which burst this morning.

“The burst was reported to us at 7.07am and we had a technician on site by 8am.

“Repair work has now been completed and we will have water supplies for two homes that have been affected restored by 3pm today.

“We would like to thank those customers affected for their patience while we dealt with this issue.”
