A MOTORIST is due in court after allegedly leading police on a car chase along the A12.
A silver Ford Fiesta Fusion was on the A12 at Colchester when officers tried to stop the vehicle.
But the car made off, sparking a pursuit along the A12.
The car eventually stopped in Hatfield Peverel.
Car salesman George Edwards, 18, of Pyms Close, in Chelmsford is charged with a number of driving offences, including driving under the influence of cocaine and benzoyleconine - a controlled drug.
He is also charged with driving without insurance and driving other than in accordance with a licence.
He is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on September 21.
The alleged incident took place on Saturday, June 11.
