THOUSANDS turned out to marvel at stunning flower displays at an annual show.

The annual Tillingham parade and flower show drew in about 2,000 guests this year.

As well as the usual horticultural and handicraft marquees there was also a hog roast, crepe stall, fete games, displays including an Eden Falconry display, the traditional tug of war and a dog show.

There was also a parade to kick off the show, which included vintage cars.

About 80 stall holders took part and entertained the visitors.

Clint Tuckey, one of the organisers from the Tillingham and District Flower Show Ltd, said the event in Vicarage Lane always attracts thousands.

He said: "It's good that we keep these things alive. The stall holders love coming back because of the atmosphere and if the weather is good there is a great turn out.

"We have been lucky as last year one of the marquees got torn down in the weather but it has been brilliant."

Any extra money made will go to local charities.

The organisation has recently received funding from the Essex Community Foundation.

The show was held on Saturday, July 23.
