A mother has described the “magical” moment she watched a celebrity wearing jewellery she had made on TV.

Sarah Thomas, 40, of Cold Norton, had to pinch herself when Strictly Come Dancing judge Darcey Bussell wore her earrings on BBC 2’s show Strictly – It Takes 2, last Thursday night.

Miss Thomas has been making jewellery all her life after becoming fascinated by a pendant she found in her back garden, while digging with her dad, aged five.

She said: “I honestly couldn’t believe it.

“Darcey is one of the very few celebrities we see on our TV who got to where she has by raw talent.

“I had sent her the earrings because I truly believe she is an absolute ray of sunshine – I had no idea she would wear them.”

The mother-of-two, who launched Made by Plumb about 18 months ago, said she was in “disbelief” when friends, who recognised the earrings, told her the 46- year-old former ballet dancer was sporting them.

The name of her business was inspired by her father, a plumber who sadly died from asbestosis in 2011, who nicknamed Sarah “Plumb”.

She is raising money for the Farleigh Hospice, which helped her dad throughout his illness and donates £5 for each silver bracelet and heartshaped rose quartz that she sells.
