A CHARITY group has been told it can continue with its plans for a hobby farm in Clacton.
Clacton Family Trust, which provides care for disabled adults, has been given permission to retain a number of buildings at its Jaywick Lane site.
Tendring Council has given the go ahead for an office, resource centre and pergola as well as outbuildings used to house animals as part of a hobby farm and to grow crops.
The plans were approved despite the council receiving one letter of objection from a neighbour.
A spokesman said: “The wider use of the site involves animal management and care by three full-time staff backed up by five volunteer helpers from local residential care homes.
“The project is non-profit making and the produce is used by the volunteers in their cookery lessons in the resource centre.”
