A woman who died following a road traffic collision in Little Wigborough on July 25 has been named as Jean Wilcox, aged 82, of Northfield Road, Waltham Cross.

Mrs Wilcox was a passenger in a Vauxhall Astra that was in collision with a Volkswagen Polo travelling in the opposite direction in Peldon Road, just after 1pm.

Her daughter, who was driving the Astra, and is from Mayland, remains in hospital where she is being treated for a fractured pelvis.

Their family would like to thank members of the public and emergency services who assisted at the scene and are also very grateful to hospital staff for their care and support.

The driver of the Polo, a 37-year-old woman, is being treated in hospital for a broken femur.

A five-year-old girl who was a passenger in the Polo is in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

A two-year-old girl who was also in the car was taken to hospital with minor injuries and is now recovering at home.

Enquiries into the cause of the collision are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 101.
