A TOP London band will be playing a gig in Dovercourt just days after their Glastonbury set.

Tankus The Henge will be performing at Kingsway Hall, in Dovercourt, tonightas part of the ongoing collaboration between the venue and the Harwich Festival of the Arts.

The group – called HFK Promotions – signed up ska sensations the New Town Kings for their debut gig, and festival administrator Michael Offord is equally excited for the upcoming gig.

He said: “The New Town Kings gig couldn’t have gone any better, we are really proud to be able to follow this up with another massive act. They have played numerous festivals this year, including Isle of Wight and Glastonbury.”

Kingsway Hall manager Mark Young added: “In 2011, Tankus were described as one of the top ten acts to see at Glastonbury and have performed there again this year, just a week before coming.”

Support will be provided by Jonathan Marriott and the Painted Birds.

Tickets cost £6 in advance from Kingsway Hall, the Harwich Festival pop-up shop in Dovercourt High Street or at harwichfestival.co.uk Remaining tickets priced at £10 will be available on the door, which opens at 7.30pm.

Entry is restricted to over-16s.
