CARNIVAL fever came to Harwich as children paraded through the streets.
Youngsters from schools across the town came together to take part in the Harwich Children’s Carnival.
Streets pulsated with the thump of drums as 1,000 youngsters paraded through the town last Thursday.
Nine of the primary schools and nurseries had been working with African and Brazilian drumming artists, BrazilArte and Efua Sey.
The procession went through Old Harwich and returned to Harwich Green for speeches, prizes and more performances.
The event is now run by the Grand Theatre of Lemmings, which took over in 2013.
Organiser Mandy Rose said: “The whole community came together to help.”
