VANDALS have “deliberately” targeted a horse charity by cutting a fence.

The damage could have led to dozens of horses escaping.

Holes were discovered in fences at Harwich Horse Rangers on Saturday morning.

It is the second time the charity has been targeted in the past four months.

In December 12, horses escaped after three large holes were sliced in wire mesh fencing.

No animals escaped following the latest incident.

Trustee Jenni Bush said there could have been a “tragic” accident if any of the horses had got out. “We keep getting the fences cut,” she said. “It is quite clear it is people who have got cutters.

“They have cut both sides and it is big enough to get the horses in and out. It is a deliberate act which keeps happening, unfortunately.”
