COLCHESTER’S sixth Town and Country Show drew bumper crowds.

The two-day event in Lower Castle Park, organised by Oakleigh Fairs, kept visitors entertained with displays and activities.

Entertainment included an equestrian acrobatics display, ferret racing and fighting knights.

Youngsters also got the chance to get up close to baby animals at a children’s farm.

Sunday saw a dog showwith the proceeds of entries going to Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Emma Owen, of Oakleigh Fairs, said: "It has been really, really good. It was a fantastic day on Saturday – the sun was shining over the park and we had a crowd out in their thousands.

"The ladies doing the horse acrobatics were just spectacular and it was great having all the children getting involved with activities.

"This is the sixth year we have done it and we are already looking forward to next year."
