BROOKSIDE, X Factor and Dancing on Ice star turned platinum-selling crooner Ray Quinn hits Clacton’s Princes Theatre tomorrow night.
He first became known on controversial Liverpool soap Brookie in the late 1990s, but had always had a passion for singing.
Quinn shot to fame in 2006 as one of the stars of X Factor, where he came second to Leona Lewis, and three years later he scooped TV’s Dancing on Ice crown.
After appearing on last year’s All Stars, he is now back where he belongs, writing, singing and recording in the studio.
His EP, which was released in September 2014, received incredible reviews, going straight to number two on the iTunes pre-order charts in September.
New single They Say Love was released last week and latest album Dare to Dream is due out in April.
Debut album Doing It My Way was released after the X Factor in 2007 and rocketed to number one in the UK charts, recording platinum sales in its first week.
The Old Soul, Young Blood follow-up also performed well, but Quinn said he was taking a new direction away from big band swing with more of a jazzy, soul funk sound.
Clacton is just the second night of a 19-date album tour that takes him the length and breadth of England.
Tickets for the show, which starts at 7.30pm, cost £19.50 and £18.50 concessions.
