SCHOOLS are celebrating improved results in the latest league tables.

The tables which analyse GCSE and A-level grades, were published yesterday.

At GCSE level, schools are rated based on the proportion of pupils who achieved five or more A* to C grades, including maths and English or equivalent.

Ties are broken by average GCSE points score per pupil.

East Bergholt High School ranked 14th in Suffolk with 62 per cent of its 183 student achieving five or more A* to C grades.

Harwich and Dovercourt High School’s sixth form ranked fifth in the county for vocational results and 19th for students who sat academic exams.

For GCSEs the school ranked 53rd with 55 per cent of its 203 students achieving five or more A* to C grades.
