Christmas revellers must secure homes before celebrating
Police have warned Christmas revellers to secure their homes before heading out for the night.
They say residents should leave lights on and close curtains to make it look as though someone is at home and ask people to be extra careful locking doors and windows.
When out celebrating people should keep alert at all times, plan their journey home and not take minicabs if they have not pre-booked.
