CLACTON’S £36million coast protection scheme was put under the spotlight during a visit from the regional flood and coast committee.
The Anglian Eastern Regional Flood and Coast Committee visited the latest section of the construction site at Holland-on-Sea before a meeting at Clacton Town Hall.
Tendring Council leader Mick Page said he was “delighted” the district was chosen to host the event.
He said: “It was certainly a good time for them to come and have a look at our scheme, as it is progressing well and there are already a number of the fishtail groynes in place and others being worked on.
“We are very proud of what is being achieved for our residents and visitors and it was an opportunity to give the committee an insight into what we are doing.”
