THOUSANDS of pounds have helped save a vital Harwich-based employment programme.
Passport to Work – which is run as part of the Energising Harwich Project – supports unemployed residents to develop specialist skills and gain qualifications to work in engineering.
The scheme had been under threat due to a funding gap but Tendring Council has agreed a funding boost of £24,000 to help it run for another year.
