Developers have angered Southminster residents by resubmitting an outline planning application for more than two hundred homes.

Gladman Developments submitted the application for homes off North End, Southminster, to Maldon District Council on October 1.

The proposal also includes a medical centre.

An application for 240 dwellings was refused by the South East Area Planning Committee in July.

Adjustments to the application include reducing the number of homes to 220, a landscape buffer at site boundaries to improve the change from development to countryside and a reserve site for a medical centre.

The applicant reported from community engagement most respondents objected to plans raising issues such as employment and whether houses would be affordable.
