A POPULAR leisure centre will be getting a new name to go with its new look, following a £900,000 makeover.
Dovercourt Swimming Pool will be renamed Dovercourt Bay Lifestyles when the facelift is complete in December.
The Tendring Council-run site will be home to a new ground-floor fitness suite accessible to all.
A survey was carried out with 100 customers to help decide the new name.
Almost half of those asked thought Dovercourt Bay Lifestyles captured the image the council is hoping to achieve from the improvements.
Mark Platt, the council member responsible for leisure, said: “It is all about demonstrating that significant improvements are taking place and we wanted a brand name which portrays a modern leisure facility.
“Having discussed this with ward members, customers and officers, the name selected is Dovercourt Bay Lifestyles.”
