HUNDREDS of jobseekers met potential employers at a careers day organised by the Gazette.

The Essex Careers and Training Event was held at Colchester Town Hall, with employers, including Essex Police and the Colchester hospitals, in attendance.

Stallholders also included recruitment companies, care homes and the Army.

Event co-ordinator Lynda Clark said: “Having such a wide range of companies attending the event and offering great job opportunities really helped the show. There were many great comments from members of the public.

“People were also really happy that they got the chance to speak with Career Circus, who were offering career advice and more.’’ She added: “We also had many people in who were able to talk to various companies regarding the apprenticeship schemes and courses that are out there.”

Stallholders were pleased with the response from visitors.

Nazma Khatun, of aloe vera business Forever Living, said: “My business partner and I had a fantastic time at the event.

“We have so many different leads and cannot express how grateful we are that we were able to take part.”
