FAMILIES of children who were treated by nurses at Colchester General Hospital came together for a party.
About 120 babies and toddlers, including six pairs of twins and a set of triplets, got together in Great Bentley village hall last week.
The event was for babies who spent at least a week on the neonatal unit over the last 12 months.
Unit sister Karen Moss said: “We used to organise a Christmas party at the hospital each year but we decided to try a different time of year for a change.
“It was something the staff were looking forward to because it gave us an opportunity to catch up with babies and parents who we haven’t seen for a while and to see the progress they have made.”
Little ones were treated to a bouncy castle and other play equipment. Each year the unit admits about 600 sick or premature babies.
