PLANS for a new library at a Walton school have been given the green light.
Hamford Primary Academy launched plans for the new library at the beginning of the year. Staff and pupils have been working hard to raise cash to fund the £75,000 project.
They are now celebrating after Tendring Council approved the application.
The library will be built on the site of a derelict and disused swimming pool next to the main school building.
The fundraising campaign topped the £12,000 mark last term. Work will start on the foundations of the new library when they hit £20,000.
