A CHARITY supporter has scooped a jackpot of almost £3,000 in the Essex Air Ambulance Lottery.
Peter Brown, of Harwich, won £2,992 in the Superdraw which is funded by supporters of the charity paying £1 per week to be entered into a prize draw.
Mr Brown and his family picked up the winnings at the Essex Air Ambulance Airbase in Earls Colne, where they also got to inspect a helicopter and meet the air crew.
“It came as a complete surprise when I received the phone call to say I had won the Air Ambulance Lottery,” said Mr Brown.
“I had only been in the competition a short while so I really didn’t think I would win at all, let alone so quickly.
“With so many great charities in the country, it is difficult deciding which one to donate to on a regular basis, so when I heard about all the good work the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Trust does, I did not think twice about signing up for the lottery.”
Mr Brown plans to spend his cash on a trip to South Korea to visit his eldest son.
