A TEENAGER chose to complete a gruelling ten-mile charity walk on her 16th birthday instead of having a party.
Rachael Liddle, of Clacton, chose to take on the challenge on Sunday to boost Help For Heroes and Cancer Research.
Joined by pal Tasha Koziol and brother Christopher, the birthday girl trekked along the seafront from Clacton pier, completing a ten-mile route.
They raised more than £150 for the charities.
Rachael’s mum Audrey said: “She decided to do this rather than have a party for her birthday because she wanted to help others.
“There were some sore feet and blisters afterwards but they did brilliantly. They all said it was worth it afterwards. I’m so proud of all of their efforts.”
