Cheers to Maldon!

Some 1,800 beer lovers packed out the Plume School, in Fambridge Road, for the “most successful” Maldon Beer Festival yet.

The event, which is in the new location for the first year, saw vast numbers of thirsty drinkers, some of whom had travelled from across the country, sampling more than 60 varieties of real ale and cider.

Visitors to the festival, who enjoyed the glorious sunshine in the seating area outside, drank almost 5,000 pints.

The festival, which ran from Wednesday to Saturday and was organised by the district’s CAMRA branch, even ran out of ciders and more barrels of ale had to be brought in from local breweries.
