A 1950’s movie-inspired show is coming to The Quay Theatre in Sudbury at the end of this month.

The Thing That Came From Over There will be performed at 7.30pm on Wednesday, January 31.

It is described as being a fast-paced show, which mixes paranoia, suspense and hilariously gruesome deaths all into one.

Set in 1912, it is the story of hapless explorer, Captain Reginald Cranston, who has wound up on the wrong side of Antarctica whilst Robert Falcon Scott and Roald Amundsen begin their race to the South Pole.

As Cranston and his motley band set up base camp, a meteor crashes nearby.

Produced by the Gonzo Moose Theatre Company, the play features just three actors, who between them play 15 different roles during the course of the show.

What ancient evil lurks inside the crater? What is the dark secret of the slimy fungus? And what is the horrifying fate of those who encounter the parasitic space worms?

Featuring everything from giant puppetry and live music to witty lines and visual gags, this hilarious show has a duration of 75 minutes.

Tickets for the show, priced at £12 per person, are available by calling the Quay Theatre box office on 01787 374745.
