Violin and guitar will come together when a music group takes to the stage later this month.

Sultans of String will perform at the Quay Theatre in Sudbury on January 27.

The three-time Juno award nominees have been described as “absolutely brilliant” by BBC Radio and are well known for the genre-hopping work.

Their repertoire includes Celtic, flamenco, Cuban and Arabic music as well as funk music and violin dances.

They use acoustic strings throughout their show with their music a multi-layered sound, described as a performance not to miss.

Sultans of String are led by Chris McKhool, a well-known and award-winning Canadian musician and producer, who received a Queen’s Diamond Jubilee medal for his work in building the community.

Chris, who grew up in a Lebanese-Egyptian household, joined up with guitarist Kevin Laliberte to create the Sultans of String’s signature sound.

From this foundation the dynamic duo work with a range of other artists.
