A SERIES of magnificent musical events are coming to Halstead this month.

Residents can test their knowledge in a quiz which takes place at The Hedingham Sports and Social Club, in Sible Hedingham.

The Ultimate Music Quiz will feature a range of music from the Sixties up to modern day.

The quiz takes place on Saturday, November 11 from 8pm, featuring a range of artists from Ed Sheeran and Engelbert Humperdinck, Metallica and Mozart.

The club will charge £3 per person and the proceeds will go back into the Halstead community social club.

The Halstead and District Choral Society will also put on a concert this month.

The classical celebration will feature music by Schubert and Mozart and will be conducted by James Davey.

It will take place at the Baptist Church in Hedingham Road, Halstead, from 7.30pm on November 18. Tickets cost £10 and are available from the Head Street Gallery in Halstead and from Ziel in Earls Colne. On November 5 Pure Imagination will be put on at Sudbury’s Quay Theatre.

The show takes place from 7.30pm and will be produced by the Sudbury Musical Society.

On November 19 An Evening with Frank, Dean and Judy will come to the stage at the Quay Theatre.

Sensational swing singers Paul and Stephen Amer will be joined by their live five piece band and singer Ellie Darnell to sing a variety of classic songs from the era of swing.

With hits such as That’s Life, The Lady is a Trump and New York New York, the show features a whole evening of popular Fifties and Sixties hits.

Tickets for the swing event, which starts at 7pm, cost £18 each, with friends of The Quay theatre paying a reduced price of £16 each.
