A PRIMARY school has maintained its good rating after an Ofsted inspection.

While good in most areas, Holy Trinity Primary School, in Halstead, also received an outstanding rating in the area of personal development, behaviour and welfare.

The school received praise from families on Parent View, a questionnaire website by Ofsted, with 98 per cent of parents saying they would recommend the school.

The report, published on Tuesday, said: “In assemblies, pupils are taught tolerance through discussion about different faiths that they may well encounter in the community.

“Experienced governors, and governors who are relatively new to the school, use their expertise to benefit pupils and school leaders well.

“Pupils are enthusiastic to learn in lessons and eagerly respond to their teachers or talk with their partners to share ideas.”

The school was previously inspected in July 2013 and now has 243 pupils on roll.

Headteacher Jon Smith is on sick leave, while deputy headteacher Hayley Todd is now acting headteacher.

She said: “We are really pleased with the result, everyone here is part of a fantastic team.

“It’s a reflection of Holy Trinity that lots of our parents had spoken on Parent View and recommended us, that’s our biggest pleasure.”
