A RECREATIONAL drug user left Colchester Magistrates’ Court with a fine for possession of class B drugs.
Christopher Sims admitted possession of5.4g of cannabis and 1.81g of ketamine which were for personal use when police arrived at his home with a search warrant.
During the search, at North Road, in Great Yeldham, the drugs were found in the 25-year-old’s bedroom.
Philip Pearson, prosecuting, said: “He was interviewed by police at the scene and made a full admission.”
He added: “In 2014, he received a caution for possession of cocaine, but has no previous convictions relating to drugs.
“He was last in court in 2009 for theft from a shop.”
Halstead roofer Sims was fined £247 in total.
The drugs were ordered to be destroyed by magistrates and he must pay costs.
