A DATE and time for the big Christmas light switch on has been confirmed.

Halstead Public Gardens will host the annual event which will take place on Saturday, November 25 at 4.30pm.

The Christmas Fayre will also take place on the same day in Halstead town centre.

It is hoped families with generations from young to old will enjoy a day out in the market town.

Charities and businesses will be running a variety of stalls, raffles, activities and competitions throughout the day to keep people entertained.

And if shopping is not for you numerous choirs, bands and dancers have been booked to add to the festivities for everyone to enjoy.

Mulled wine and mince pies will be served later in the evening at the Holy Trinity Church to help warm any chills and while enjoying the treats people can take a look at the decorations made by nearby schools and nurseries which will be on display.
