Here is a round-up of fantastic fireworks displays taking place across mid Essex this weekend.

Braintree Rugby Club fireworks

Braintree Rugby Club’s fireworks display will be returning to town again on Sunday.

In addition to the fireworks, there will be a disco roadshow, a bonfire and fun fair for the children.

The bonfire will be lit at 7.45pm before fireworks at 8pm.

The event takes place at the rugby club on Beckers Green Road.

Admission for adults costs £6, with children costing £4 and babies in arms going free.

Witham Round Table fireworks

Witham’s display is organised by the Witham Round Table in aid of charity.

The stunning display will take place the Witham Rugby Club on Spa Road on Saturday.

This year the show will be themed to music and there will be a selection of rides, a stage show and refreshments including a hog roast, burgers , sausages and sweet stalls.

The bonfire will start from 6.30pm before fireworks, which start an hour later at 7.30pm.

Coggeshall – Friends of St Peters

The Friends of St Peter’s Grand Fireworks Display is back for another year at St Peter’s C of E Primary School, Myneer Road.

With a bigger package of fireworks planned, this year’s display on Saturday is set to provide more ‘ooohs’ and ‘ahhhs’.

The school’s parents and teachers’ association is encouraging families to come along to enjoy the barbecue, a warming cup of mulled wine or a Braintree brewed beer from the Red Fox Brewery.

Other refreshments and glow sticks can also be purchased.

Tickets are still available and can be purchased in advance from Norman’s Confectioner, on Stoneham Street, Coggeshall.

Gates open 5.45pm and close at 6.45pm. The display starts at 7pm.

Maldon Promenade Park fireworks

Maldon’s 43rd fireworks display will be taking place at Promenade Park on Park Drive on Saturday.

Organised by the Maldon Rotary Club, another splendid show of dazzling explosions and lights will enchant the skies.

There will be a Winter Warmers Bar serving Mulled Wine, Spiced Cidre and Hot Toddies as well as a range of food on offer.

The park gates will be open from 5.30pm, with music and competitions taking place from 6pm.

The bonfire will be lit at 7pm, with fireworks commencing at 7.30pm after a countdown.

Tickets are £6 for adults, £4 for children under 14 and under-fives get in for free. A family ticket for two adults and two children costs £18.

The Great Burnham Bonfire

Burnham will also be host to the fiery festivities on Saturday night with The Great Burnham Bonfire.

The bonfire will take place at St Mary’s Church on Church Road, with gates opening from 6pm.

At St Mary’s Green there will be a BBQ and beer tent, hot and cold drinks, plus glowsticks, toys and many more items on offer.

Entry will be free, guests are asked where possible to bring along a firework to contribute to the display. It is expected to finish around 9pm.

Halstead Town Football club fireworks

Halstead Town’s Football Club will host a night of fireworks on Saturday.

A professional display will be held to raise funds for both the football club, on Rosemary Lane, Halstead, and Richard de Clare’s community school on Parsonage Street.

Admission costs £6 for adults and children costs £4, with no need to order tickets in advance as residents can pay from 5.30pm when gates open.

Blackmore End fireworks

Blackmore End, near Gosfield, will host a traditional bonfire and fireworks display on Saturday November 4.

The display will take place at Blackmore End playing field, on School Road.

Organisers are encouraging residents to join them at the playing field from 6pm for a bonfire lighting, fireworks, bar, barbecue and bouncy castle.

There will also be a competition held for the best looking Guy Fawkes effigy for children aged under 12.
