THREE new homes could be built on the site of a set of garages.

A planning application has been submitted to knock down the garages, and build three homes in their place on the land to the rear of 24-30 Ronald Road.

The garage lock-ups are currently unused and in a state of disrepair.

All three homes would be two-bed and allocated as affordable housing.

Halstead Town Council raised no objections at Monday night’s full town council meeting, but Braintree Council’s environmental health team said conditions would have to be imposed if it was approved.

The suggested conditions include work between 7.30am and 6pm on weekdays, and none after 1.30pm on a Saturday, with no work to be carried out on Sundays.

No piling shall be undertaken on the site, no refuse or waste should be burnt, and a risk assessment carried out.
