A HEAD girl has been praised after leading by example and never missing a day throughout her school life.

While others suffered the usual coughs and colds Lucy Stokes seemed to only ever get ill during school holidays which, at the time, may have been annoying, but her attendance could help improve her chances in the future.

Many schools fine parents for unauthorised absences but the 16-year-old never required any authorised ones either with her proud mum Deanne claiming this can only of helped with her results due within weeks.

Lucy was first recognised for attending her primary school, Holy Trinity School, every day from reception through to Year Six.

Her record continued at Ramsey School and her reliability, along with many other qualities, helped her reach the end of her time at The Ramsey Academy with the same record.

Among the reasons Lucy was keen to attend, as well as it being the law, was her fondness and participation in a variety of clubs and creative activities from drama to a variety of sports.

She sat her GCSE exams in June and receives the results in August.

Mrs Stokes said: “We are so proud of Lucy for everything she’s achieved in her school life.

“She has done fantastic at school and really worked hard for her exams, so attending provides a good focus for Sixth Form or College.

“For Lucy to have 100 per cent attendance is very good, as it gives her a great work ethic for both college and work in the future.

“I don’t know where she gets it from.

“She gets her results in the August and she’s looking to do something creative afterwards, whether this is sport or something different.

“She’s sad to be leaving school as there’s no sixth form at The Ramsey Academy, and that’s a shame as she’s loved her schooling there.

“But having that attendance record and a record of head girl is brilliant for careers and jobs in the future, and so as parents we couldn’t be any prouder.”
