It must be nearly panto time again – Oh no it isn’t. Well for Sudbury Dramatic Society – Oh yes it is.
Sudbury Dramatic Society have announced their annual Quay Pantomime for 2017 Aladdin, written by local author Andy Gribben.
Open Auditions for Aladdin are being held in The Jetty at Quay Theatre on Monday 24th July at 7.30pm.
As usual SDS aim to put together two casts, one to appear before and one after Christmas to allow time for everyone to enjoy the festive season.
Joint directors Helen and Neil Arbon make an experienced team, having directed many Sudbury Dramatic Pantomimes before, and are returning with a script by popular local author Andy Gribben who has also written several previous pantomimes for the society.
Helen and Neil are looking for all the usual traditional pantomime characters from a principal boy (who could be male or female), to a principal girl and a pantomime Dame and a toe-curling villain to put together everything you could wish for in a panto. The wholes cast will be required to sing and dance in the chorus numbers.
Aladdin is on at The Quay Theatre from Friday 15th December to Monday 1st January with matinee and evening performances available. Visit quaysudbury.com
