ARTISTS have come together to help out with a unique church fundraiser.

The Friends of St Nicholas Church group is hosting its summer exhibition and auction at the Castle Hedingham Church on July 1.

Artists from the area have donated pieces, ranging from watercolours to screen prints, all of which are up for sale.

Residents can bid on all the items without revealing their identity, and each piece will go to the highest bidder.

All of the proceeds raised will go towards much-needed repairs at the church.

Chris Applebee, an artist from Castle Hedingham and one of the organisers, said: “I haven’t really heard about this kind of this happening around here and I thought it would be something a bit different to do as a fundraiser.”

Entries are also still being accepted by artists, however they must be received by next weekend.

The exhibition and auction takes place between 10am and 4pm on Saturday, July 1.
