A PRIMARY school celebrated Christian Aid Week by hosting a 'Big Brekkie' for pupils, parents and staff.

St Andrew's CEVC Primary School, Great Yeldham, hosted the big breakfast event last Friday, and pupils were joined by The Right Reverend Roger Morris, Bishop of Colchester.

The morning saw the school raise £316.60 for the 60th anniversary of Christian Aid Week, which will be used to give aid to refugees around the world.

The school’s catering team served a traditional English breakfast, and suppliers such as Thomas Ridley, Peacocks and Fresh Produce donated a number of items for the school to use, in order for the breakfast to make as much money for Christian Aid as possible.

Many parents commented on what a lovely morning they had had with their children and this was echoed by the buzzing atmosphere within the school hall.

The school thanked all those that attended and made this event so successful.
