NERF Wars are returning to Halstead next weekend.

Put on by family fun company, Whizzfit, the inaugural Halstead event proved hugely popular in February, and they are returning to the Leisure centre on Sunday for two sessions.

Far too often children have their own individual activities without doing any-thing together as a family so Whizzfit combine a series of fun and active games for the whole family.

Armed with the latest pump-action Nerf guns, the games combine Dodgeball and old childhood games such as British bulldog.

After a series of fun warm up games we organise everyone into teams. Of-ten adults want to be on the opposite side to their spouses and children want to be against their parents.

Whizzfit founder Angus Effemey said “ I wanted to start a session that was fun for the whole family whilst staying fit at the same time.”

The Whizzfit project started when Angus discovered dodgeball, he was immediately hooked because he realised it was a sport that everyone can play and enjoy safely, no matter what age or sporting ability.

Adults can recapture that misspent youth and their children get to play more of what they love with the added bonus of exercise for the whole family.

Either way it’s a powerful message when a family are all participating in an event together like this.

WhizzFit advertise the event as a great way for “adults to recapture that misspent youth and their children get to play more of what they love with the added bonus of exercise for the whole family.”

Nerf Guns will be provided, but children are more than welcome to bring their favourite along.

Each session is two hours long, starting of with a 30 to 40 minutes of high energy dodgeball, followed by an hour of Nerf wars, and rounded off with a traditional family favour Tug-of-war.

The first of the double-header will run from 10.30am to 12.30pm, with the second running from 2pm to 4pm.
