A CHURCH has been forced to cancel some of its services.
St John the Baptist Church, in Pebmarsh, has said there is not enough support from the wider community to run every week.
A statement sent out to the Pebmarsh community states: “It is with great sadness that the Church wardens and PCC of St John the Baptist Church, Pebmarsh, have decided to reduce the church services to one per month, this being on the third Sunday of the month, which will be a service of Holy Communion at 9.30am.
“This decision has not been made lightly, but as there is only a small group of dedicated Christians who support the church this is no longer sustainable without support from the wider community.
“The Church will remain open daily and is available for weddings, baptisms and funerals.
“Thank you to those who continue to support us.”
