UGANDAN orphans are set are set to tell their inspirational story at a church.

The Watoto Children’s Choir will perform at Earls Colne Baptist Church in Halstead Road on January 22.

Since 1994, Watoto has enabled thousands of disadvantaged children and adults to regain control of their lives and to realise their potential.

The children will share stories of how their lives have been changed, and how the role they play in transforming their communities.

Seven Loxley, minister at Earls Colne Baptist Church, said: “They do a tour every two years across the whole of the UK.

“Normally they just do Colchester, but one of the ministers in Colchester asked if we would like a slot, and obviously I jumped at the opportunity. I have seen them perform before, and the talent is truly phenomenal.

“The way they sing, dance, and the whole performance is spectacular.

“But then there is their story on top of that.

“I went to Uganda a few years ago, not to this particular orphanage but I visited a few, and the way they sing about their journey and their story is amazing.

“To have this transformation, at such a young age, is truly inspiring.”
