MORE than 100 residents came together to stand against "predator developers" wanting to build more homes.

The Yeldham Action Team was formed at the beginning of the month to object to proposals by Gladman Developments.

The group has now met with Great Yeldham Parish Council to put forward their aims and reasons for objection.

The developer has proposed homes for Butlers Way and land at Toppesfield Road and the High Street.

Greg Coogan, who started the action group, said: "There was an open and frank discussion on how to deal with these issues and it included advise from Mark Schofield, a Danbury resident fighting similar proposals around Danbury put forward by the 'predator' Gladman Developments."

He said the parish council discussed both proposed developments, which were rejected unanimously by residents and councillors.

Just before the end of the consultation period for the district's draft Local Plan, Gladman submitted land behind Butlers Way in Great Yeldham for development for up to 60 homes.

Mr Coogan said he also had backing from parish councils in Finchingfield and Steeple Bumpstead.

A possible 95 homes could still be built at Wethersfield Road in Finchingfield.

No planning application has been put forward but residents in Finchingfield received letters saying what Gladman wanted to achieve.
