Gosfield School has again helped to ensure their A Level students have achieved the results they needed to meet their university and career aspirations.

Overall the school achieved a 96% A2 pass rate, an excellent result for a larger than average student cohort.

Principal, Dr Welch, was on site today to congratulate students and wish them well with their future endeavours

She said: “It is wonderful to see our Sixth Form leavers so excited about all that the future holds for them following their A Levels.

Of course, we are sad to see them go, but we are immensely proud of their achievements and look forward to hearing about their future success.”

Theo Woko who joined Gosfield School in Year 3, gained AAB grades in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics, securing his place to read Biochemistry at Russell Group university, The University of Manchester.

Dr Welch is delighted with Theo’s achievement and has a particular soft spot for his university choice

She added: “I had a fantastic time as an undergraduate at Manchester. With its excellent facilities and teaching—not to mention its cultural and leisure opportunities—it is a terrific destination for Theo and I am sure he will make the most of it.”

Nearly half of the school’s Year 13 cohort took Economics and Business A-Level with all achieving grade C or above, meeting or surpassing their predicted grades.

Director of Studies and Head of Economics and Business, Mrs Catherine Redfern, is delighted with her student’s results.

She said: “This subject provides all candidates with an excellent grounding for the future world of work, even appealing to budding entrepreneurs such as student Mark Rumble, who achieved an A grade and is now establishing his own business.”
