HEDINGHAM School students will spend today celebrating a hugely successful set of A-level results.

99 per cent gained a pass mark in their A-level examinations while an impressive 61 per cent achieved A* to C grades, improving on last year's 98 per cent.

Art students were the pick of the bunch achieving five A*s, an exceptional achievement for the students and the Art department. 

Headteacher, John Panayi, was once again delighted as the school improved on last year's highly impressive results. 

He said: “We are pleased with the performances of the students. 

"The school has worked collectively to set high student expectations, which again, has been reflected in the results. 

"I would like to thank the commitment and hard work demonstrated by all students, staff and parents. 

"I wish all the students a successful future.”

In the Level 3 Vocational courses there was a 100 per cent pass rate with 40 per cent of students registering distinctions. 

There were a number of notable individual performances, Peter Olley achieved two A’s and a B grade will now take his place at Southampton to study Aeronautics. 

Giorgia Paddock will study Model Design at Hertfordshire University following achieving two A*’s and a C grade. 

Daniel Mackinnon achieved two A’s and two B grades and plans to read Chemistry at degree level. 

Jonathan Banks-Seeney gained two A’s and a B and is looking to study International Relations at Birmingham. 

At AS, Denys Hellary achieved five A grades and now hopes to pursue his application to Oxford.
