A MAN has been found guilty of glassing a grandfather in a row over allegations of selling drugs to children.
Kieron Wilson, 23, of Bran End Fields in Stebbing, stood trial at Chelmsford Crown Court accused of causing grievous bodily harm to Laurance Stigant in Halstead on June 27 last year.
Wilson had claimed he had acted in self-defence.
His co-defendant Joshua Murdy, 23, of Abels Road in Halstead, was accused of causing grievous bodily harm to Mark Stigant.
Mr Murdy was acquitted by the jury after the seven day trial.
The court heard both men were on Parsonage Street, Halstead, with two girls after having spent time at the Griffin pub when they set upon a man, Mark Stigant, and his father, Laurance Stigant.
Mark Stigant believed Murdy had been involved in selling drugs and intimidating children in Halstead, including his son.
Wilson will be sentenced at Chelmsford Crown Court on August 10 after being remanded in custody.
