HALSTEAD Costa Coffee held a 'Gunge the Barista' event to raise money for charity last Saturday.

The event saw one barista get covered in gunge, as well as games and prizes to help raise funds for the Costa Foundation.

Chloe Frisby was lucky enough to be chosen by public poll to be gunged on the coffee shop's facebook page.

She said: "Initially, I didn't expect to be chosen, but knew if I was, I would proudly take one for the team because the Costa Foundation is such an amazing charity and one that is close to my heart.

"On the day, I can't say I was looking forward to it, I mean, who wants to be gunged?

"But it was a brilliant turn out and with the support from my team, it made the day even better.

"The only downside? It took forever to wash out of my hair!"

The Costa Foundation aims to reduce poverty in coffee growing communities, and advance education by building schools with the money that is raised.

To date, the Costa Foundation has supported 41 school projects in eight countries around the world.

With the help of the team, and the customers, the day brought much entertainment alongside helping a worthy cause.
