A FUN filled afternoon was had at Colne Place residential home to continue the Queen's birthday celebrations.

There was live entertainment, a barbecue, Cream Teas, pony rides, tombola, raffle and games for the children.

Deacon Richardson, who helped organise the event, said: "Colne Place set out to have a fun afternoon whilst trying to raise money for our residential fund, we are pleased to announce both these goals were achieved.

"In total we managed to raise a massive £427 in only a few hours. This money will be used for our residents and will help us provide regular outings.

"We have already booked a few visits to the seaside, which will be great for our residents, many of which have not been to the seaside for well over five years.

"This would not have been made possible, if it was not for all the support we got from staff, families, and villagers."

Staff wanted to thank everyone for their donations, and those who supported the event by coming along.
