A SHOP is due to change hands for the third time in two years.

The shop, in The Centre, Halstead, was occupied by clothes shop Going Underground from 2010 until 2014, when the owners were forced to close due to ill health.

It then re-opened as S&M Greengrocer's in February 2015 and had a promising start with more than 360 Facebook followers.

However, this was short lived and the owners stopped renting it less than six months after it first opened due to a "change in their circumstances".

After a period of being vacant, Simon Cutler, of bathroom and kitchen firm Essex Fitters, then opened it as tile shop Cutler's Ceramics, but he too has now decided to move out.

Mr Cutler explained: "My wife and I just brought a new house in Colchester and we're going to take the shop to Colchester town as the commute will be shorter and more sales as the area is larger."

The shop is being advertised for let through Oswick Ltd and has a rental guide price of £6,000 per year or £500 per month.

A listing on rightmove.co.uk reads: "This shop is located in a parade of similar and well established shops, in an exclusive position.

"The premises are suitable for many uses - it has been used as boutique, but its use could be changed, subject to planning approval being gained from the local authority.

"The unit is available with immediate effect and would make an ideal phone shop, pet shop, car accessories or office for professional services."
