A DANCING dragon travelled from Ridgewell to London as part of a St George's Day celebration.

As part of the celebration, organised by Giles Bryant from the World Healing Project, a green dragon visited Ridgewell Primary School to give an assembly on the story of St George.

The dragon made its way around the county and into London, visiting a total of nine sites.

Mr Bryant, from Ridgewell, said: "St George's Day is a wonderful occasion for all members of our diverse but united country to come together to celebrate, have fun and enjoy the beauty that's all around us.

"The friendly Dancing Dragon, budding St George's and fair maidens were joined by religious leaders and members of the public, old and young, to a day of music, laughter and honouring St George.

"What an amazing day it was, and our family was joined by a new member as my brother and his wife's child, Asha Bryant, was born early that day.

"We celebrate St George's Day as a way to bring people together in a joyful way, to send healing to our planet and peace to all people."

The day started in Ridgewell and moved on to Bartlow Mounds, Hadstock Holy Well, Saffron Walden Market Square and Castle Mound.

The Dragon then went to the Community Allotment and the Primrose Juice Bar in Chelmsford before heading to central London and had a world peace meditation at the Tree Circle in Green Park.

The group was finally led by author and guide Chris Street through London finishing in the George Pub, near Temple.

Mr Bryant is making a musical video about the day, which will soon be available at www.worldhealingproject.com
