A GP surgery is set to close after the only doctor announced his retirement.

Dr Paul Davis of the Castle Hedingham Surgery will be retiring on December 31.

As Dr Davis is the only permanent GP at the practice, patients will no longer receive primary health care services from the Castle Hedingham Surgery from next year.

The majority of patients will transfer to Dr Littler at The Castle Surgery which is located in the same building as Dr Davis’s practice.

All patients registered with the practice will receive a letter shortly to inform them of Dr Davis retirement and how they will be able to access primary health care services after December 31.

NHS England, as commissioners of primary health care services, has arranged a drop in session for patients to have the opportunity to ask any questions they may have.

This will be held on Wednesday from 1pm until 3pm in The Memorial Hall, Church Lane, Castle Hedingham.

If patients are unable to attend this drop in session but would like to discuss the changes further they can contact their practice directly, or speak to NHS England on 0300 311 2233 (this number is charged at a local rate).
