More than £300 was raised for Macmillan Cancer Support at a school’s coffee morning.

Sixth formers at Hedingham School and Sixth Form, in Sible Hedingham, organised the event along with members of staff.

Year 13 student Peter Knight said: “The Coffee Morning was a great success with staff and students baking cakes, brownies, biscuits and much, much more.

“There was a delightful range of colourful cupcakes, iced with great care and creativity, chocolate cake so rich and dark that light could not escape its surface, lemon cake so fresh it would send tingles down the spine.

“Every one of our generous bakers outdid themselves, providing a plateau of delicious culinary creations that left an entire Sixth Form and staffroom utterly defeated by trying to test them all.”

The event took place on September 18.
